RED VS BLACK

Even though there is absolutely no scientific evidence to back this up, I’m sure most all long time breeders will agree that there is a distinct difference in the temperaments of the reds and blacks. It’s like two different breeds. Red males for the most part are laid back and some have called them dumb but that is only a term of endearment as they are certainly not dumb, but very very loving and nothing seems to bother them much. They just go thru life with a pleasant attitude. Any woman (mostly) who have had the opportunity to live with a Red male will always prefer them.

Now to the red bitches. The word Bitch was taken from them. They are always trying to outsmart you and every one else. They are highly intelligent and sometimes that makes them a little more trying to live with. They are the Alpha in the Doberman world. They also make the best show animals. Always on! They take criticism easily and it just rolls off their back, and they end up usually doing what they want anyway, unlike the red males who’s feelings stay hurt until you love them up and say your sorry, LOL.

Black males & Bitches have more or less the same temperament. They are easy to live with, take training easier or at least don’t argue with you and end up doing it your way (unlike the red bitches) and seem to be different only as individuals.

The reds are a little heavier in bone. When doing tails there is always thicker tails as a rule on reds than blacks and they tend to bleed a little more.

You can have more bone on a red and it will still be elegant and flashy in the ring. If the blacks had the same amount they might look a little more coarse.
