Corey McLennan is located in the city of Edmonds which is on the sound just 5 miles north of the
Seattle city limits. He has owned his own business for 24
years as an Animal Behavioral Consultant and works with the owners
and their pets solving behavioral issues throughout Western
Washington. Although Corey works with Cats and Exotic animals the
vast majority of his work is with dogs.
Corey's areas of expertise and specialization are
working with Canine Aggression and Separation Anxiety. In fact 95%
of Corey's appointments are dealing with aggression whether it be
towards people, other dogs or other animals.
Another area that Corey focuses on is legal cases
and matters where expertise on Canine Behavior and specifically
Canine Aggression are required.
Corey is often asked if dogs have changed over the
years since we seem to be seeing an increase in aggression and his
answer is always a resounding, "NO!" What has changed is the
way we as humans handle them and how we live with them. Most
of Corey's work involves restructuring the relationship between
owner and dog. Corey refers to these dogs as "writing their
own job description." This restructuring puts the owner in
control as the pack leader. Once this first step is
accomplished the second step is addressing and correcting the
aggression as it presents itself. These two steps as well
as fine tuning the communication skills between the owner and dogs
is essential to solving aggression.
Corey McLennan has owned numerous dogs but his
breed of choice for the past 34 years is the Doberman of which
he currently owns two. During these years, Corey's dogs have
achieved multiple HIT's, multiple TD's and TDX's, Schutzhund
titles and have also been certified therapy dogs.
