Dangers of  Antibiotics

Some of the side effects and problems linked to use of antibiotics are :

  • diarrhea

  • abdominal pain

  • severe inflammation of large intestine or colon

  • irritable bowel syndrome

  • skin problems

  • fever

  • elevated white blood cells

  • weakened immune system

  • vomiting

  • dehydration

  • potassium deficiency

  • allergies

  • colon perforation or tearing

  • excess stomach gas

  • yeast problems

  • nutritional deficiencies

  • constipation

  • polyarthritis

Knowing that weaker antibiotics create all these problems,   you can only imagine what stronger ones will cause.   It is a vicious cycle because ultimately bacteria will become resistant to new and more powerful antibiotics too.

When antibiotics are used,  both good as well as bad bacteria are destroyed in the intestinal tract or bowel.   Once the antibiotics are stopped,   the bad bacteria grows back first and far more rapidly.  This results in a very unhealthy and weakened body with very little friendly or good bacteria.

On average,  it takes one year to recover from the use of antibiotics if you are feeding good food and supplementing with friendly bacteria.  If the diet is poor,  your dog will take even longer to recover and may never fully recover at all.

Antibiotics relieve symptomatic problems but usually when they are stopped,  the symptoms return so more antibiotics are given.

Antibiotics are given to help combat the problems that the antibiotics created in the first place.  They are definitely over-prescribed and certainly over used.   They do nothing for a virus and are prescribed anyway.
